Work With Me
Kendra Coupland (Durgāputrī)
Personal Yoga Instructor serving Metro Vancouver
As an independent yoga teacher, I offer private yoga lessons outside the pressure and performance culture that can shape many mainstream wellness spaces. My approach is grounded, trauma-informed, and centred on supporting your personal practice rather than pushing you to keep up, achieve, or fit a particular image.
Each session is adapted to your needs, your pace, or your organization. Whether you are seeking stress relief, mobility, nervous system support, strength, a restorative practice for the spirit, or a deeper connection to yourself, you are free to explore your practice in a way that feels sustainable and genuinely supportive.
I offer several ways to work together online and in-person in Metro Vancouver.

Trauma-Informed Yoga for Healing
Whether it's online, or at my yoga studio in Port Coquitlam, I am committed to supporting activists, organizers, and people with histories of trauma who are experiencing burnout, overwhelm, or disconnection.
We work at your pace, with practices that respect your nervous system, your history, and your capacity in each moment. There’s no expectation to perform, progress, or “arrive” anywhere, only an invitation to build a relationship with your body that feels more stable and more your own.
Mentorship for Yoga Teachers
I offer mentorships to yoga teachers who find themselves questioning dominant yoga culture and are looking to practice and teach in ways that are trauma-informed, relational, and accountable.
Through mentorships we'll explore deeper philosophical foundations, examine our relationships to power, develop stronger ethics, and the discover ways to be impactful with what we transmit, alongside developing your capacity to hold space with more clarity and care. Learn to refine your skills as a teacher, without sacrificing your critical thinking and teach yoga beyond asana in a way that is more aligned with your values.

Group Classes, Workshops, & Retreats
Organizations in service to communities often carry what’s sometimes called the unseen “cost of caring.”
Without adequate support, care work can lead to burnout, emotional exhaustion, and disengagement. Over time, this affects both staff wellbeing and the continuity of care within your organization.
My role as a Metro-Vancouver-based yoga teacher is to support your team in building resilience in ways that don’t ignore structural realities. This includes practical, trauma-informed approaches that help staff regulate stress, sustain their capacity to care, and develop ongoing strategies for self-support.
